Eighteen Years of Your Stories
Every piece of jewelry that comes through the door at b.shannon designs arrives with a story attached. Sometimes it's tucked in a velvet pouch, sometimes in a tissue-wrapped envelope, and sometimes it's still on a finger that hasn't been without it in forty years. For eighteen years, I have had the privilege of hearing those stories, and I don’t take a single one for granted.
The heirlooms
You've brought in your grandmother's ring with the worn-thin band. Your mother's brooch that never quite suited you but you couldn't bear to keep in a drawer. A handful of mismatched pieces from someone you loved, waiting to become something you'd actually wear. Handing those over, takes trust. I know it isn't just reworking metal and
stones. I’m carrying a family's history forward, and I treat it that way.
The new beginnings
Then there are the engagement rings and wedding bands, the pieces that mark the start of something. You came in nervous, excited, sometimes unsure what you wanted, and you trusted me to help you find it. Being part of those moments, even in a small way, is one of the best parts of this work.
The pieces just for joy
Not every piece has to mean something heavy. Some of you come in simply because you love something beautiful, or want to mark a birthday, a milestone, or a Tuesday that deserved a little sparkle. Those visits matter too. Jewelry is one of the ways we gather our memories and keep them close, and the fun pieces become memories of their own.
Thank you
To everyone who has walked through the door over these eighteen years, and to everyone who will: thank you. Thank you for sharing a piece of your life with me, for
trusting me with what matters to you, and for letting me be part of your story.
Whatever you're carrying in, an heirloom, a new chapter, or just an idea, I’d love to hear about it.
